BIMs & Laser Scanning
BIMS is an emerging technology where surveyors play an important role providing data to input the system and understanding and interpreting outputs from the system. As such SKS has developed the skill and experience to interact with BIMS systems and invested in the hardware and software technology to enable suitable data collection, display and delivery.
Through working on projects such as New Royal Adelaide Hospital and Adelaide Oval Redevelopment we have had the opportunity to experience BIMS technology and understand our role. We have also invested in software such as REVIT so that we can easily interface with BIMs systems and file formats. Our laser scanner provides the perfect data collection solution for BIMs projects that require modelling of existing structures.
For engineers, designers or architects working on re-fits or modifications to buildings, factories or processing plants we can utilize our laser scanner to provide accurate 3D models of building facades, tanks, pipework, structural members and all other infrastructure. Laser scanning can produce accurate 3D models in a fraction of the time that it takes utilizing conventional techniques.
From point cloud data set we can produce simple wire frame models suitable for input to CAD or more complex 3D REVIT models for architectural modelling.
